Lemmer is one of the most beloved water sports destinations in Friesland, and you immediately feel it upon arrival. This charming village by the IJsselmeer combines a lively marina, a historic center, and a relaxed vacation atmosphere. From Marina Lemmer, you can walk in just a few minutes to cozy restaurants, waterside terraces, and the characteristic center with old warehouses, locks, and lovely boutiques.

For water sports enthusiasts, Lemmer is the ideal base. Thanks to its unique location between the IJsselmeer and the Frisian Lakes, you can sail directly into open water from the marina. Rent a motorboat, SUP, or kayak and explore the diverse Frisian waters at your own pace.

Only 500 meters from the marina lies the popular beach of Lemmer: a wide sandy beach along the IJsselmeer where you can swim, sunbathe, or enjoy a spectacular sunset over the water.

There is also plenty to do on land. Explore the area via beautiful walking and cycling routes along lakes, expansive polders, and characteristic Frisian villages. Visit the historic fortified town of Sloten, discover the picturesque Hindeloopen on the IJsselmeer coast, or spend a day in Sneek, known for its iconic Water Gate and vibrant city center. Moreover, from Lemmer, the Frisian Lakes and the famous Eleven Cities are easily accessible.

Whether you choose a relaxing stay by the water, an active water sports holiday, or a discovery tour through Friesland, Lemmer offers everything for an unforgettable vacation. After a day full of experiences, you can return to your houseboat, where you can peacefully enjoy the view over the harbor and the water.
