Agencement maison de vacances
• A cosy self-contained stone cottage, perfect for a self-catering stay, on the south-facing slope of a peaceful green valley below Cefn Llwydallt in mid Wales. We're 1000 feet up and the views are brilliant! • The Barn Annexe has a remote, "get away from it all" feeling, but is only 2.6 miles (4.2 km) from the main A470 road. • It's just a short drive to Hay-on-Wye, Brecon, Builth Wells, and the Brecon Beacons National Park.
• The front door looks out onto green fields with a great view up the beautiful Sgethwin valley. Above us is the common land of Cefn Llwydallt. To the south, Hay Bluff, the Black Mountains, and the rest of the Brecon Beacons are our backdrop (just a short drive away). • It's quiet! Fall asleep to the sounds of sheep and the breeze in the trees. • There is adjacent parking for one or two cars. • Sorry, but we can’t accept dogs (we have cats, and there are sheep nearby).
• The Barn Annexe is spacious, smart, clean and comfortable. And deliberately uncluttered, but with all the essentials for a comfy stay. • Downstairs is open plan, with spacious kitchen, dining and lounge areas, and a toilet. The kitchen includes hob, grill, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. The dining area seats up to six people around a traditional farmhouse-style dining table. The lounge area has satellite TV with sound bar and bass unit, and comfortable seating, just right for relaxing! • Upstairs has two bedrooms (one with a double bed, one with two single beds), and a bathroom with shower and toilet. • Heating is via electric radiators (four downstairs and two upstairs), with electric under-floor heating in the bathroom.
• Just 14 miles to Hay-on-Wye ("the town of books"), 9 miles to atmospheric Brecon with its Cathedral and Jazz Festival, 10 miles to Builth Wells for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Showground, 9 miles to quaint Talgarth, and 2.5 miles to the glorious River Wye (with canoeing at Glasbury, 10 miles). • And just 10 miles to the wonderful Brecon Beacons National Park! • You'll be travelling along single-track roads as you approach us, so look out for passing places and take care. The last part of the journey is upwards, along a track. Again, please take care!
• The Barn Annexe is all yours. There's a picnic table outside, and a grassy lawn leading down to a stream. Have a wander: you are welcome :-) • A peaceful and beautiful place: perfect for writing, painting, or musical inspiration. And for just relaxing! • Night-time skies are dark here. Bring your telescope! • It's a good place for bird watchers: crossbill, pipits, wheatear, kites, buzzards... • And there are great walks, literally from the front door!
