The district town of Bergen is approx. 20 km away, the sub-centre of Gingst only approx. 15 km, the beautiful island of Hiddensee is best reached by boat, otherwise it is approx. 15 minutes by car from Vieregge to the Schaprode ferry. The natural bathing beach was extensively renovated and recultivated by the municipality of Vieregge in 2005. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the residential and water complex and can be reached on foot. Here you can enjoy a quiet swim in the well-tempered and gently sloping Bodden waters. The beach is sampled every 14 days during the bathing season by the Amt West-Rügen. On the bathing water map of the island of Rügen, this beach is labelled 'very good'.
